Patricia Hendrix: Bio

“A Fine Pianist”, Classical NJ Society Journal. Patricia began studying the piano at the age of 6 . She attended the Teaneck Conservatory of Music. She later graduated with a BA in Music from the University of Rhode Island Music School and then returned back to NJ to continue her studies in the metropolitan area.

Ms. Hendrix continued her studies with NYC teachers & performed in Master Classes including sessions coached by Lillian Freundlich, Armand Boyajian, & Nelly Ben-Or . Patricia was a recipient of the Lincoln Center Student Award & received excellent reviews from the American College of Musicians Recording Competition.
She has performed as a soloist in many East Coast venues including Carnegie Hall Studios,Steinway Gallery,URI Fine Arts Concert Hall & NYU's Frederick Loew's Theatre Her 2004 CD "Something Old, Something New was featured on John Hammond's Radio Show during a live interview.
In 2008 Ms.Hendrix performed in the concert "Crossing Boundaries" at Symphony Space where she performed Caroline Newman's "3 Inflections for Solo Piano accompanying the art film "Kinetic Counterpoint" produced by Christine Knowlton. All "5 Inflections" were premiered in May 2010 at the Sight and Sound Multi Media Concert in The Croton on the Hudson Library.In 2011 she performed Ms. Newmans "3 Preludes" at the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre, Bergen Community College .
Earlier that year Patti performed Mozart's Piano Concerto #21 with the Fredricksburg/Spotswood Community Symphony Orchestra.
Patti has also been an active accompanist for many Choral Groups & Vocalists including Joan Grande's(of NY City Opera) "Ecclesia Choral", The Clifton Choral Society & Alma Vajas Studios. Currently she is Organist /Accompanist for The Newfoundland Methodist Church & was President 1999-2001 & 2011-13 for The Professional Music Teacher's Guild of NJ. She also teaches private students in her NJ home.
